Dear Bizarre readers,
For some, the term ‘cross dresser’ may bring to mind visions of bulky men with five o’clock shadows and ill-fitting wigs, Pete Burns’ larger-than-labia pumped-up lips, or certain actors’ alleged penchant for sucking the toes of trannies (some of us have ladyboy pals who adore dishing the dirt over cocktails…). To be honest, I’d much rather summon images of gorgeous ladies sporting menswear, and old-school Tinseltown is a treasure trove of inspiration for me.
 
Classic Hollywood boasted a bevy of bad girls who pissed off the old boys’ club with their smokin’, drinkin’, free thinkin’ and penchant for masculine outfits; Katharine Hepburn in her tailored suits and Marlene Dietrich in top hat and tails were at once fierce and glamorous.

But as hot as they were, in my mind nothing can compete with the sheer porno perfection of fashion snapper Helmut Newton’s divine Woman Into Man series of pictures, taken in 1975 and 1979 for French Vogue. I’d be helpless in the presence of his lady lotharios in Yves Saint Laurent tuxes, with slicked-back hair and feminine features. That kind of high-class gender-fuckery makes funny things happen in my panties.

One evening, sitting with model Scar in her LA loft, she told me how she sometimes glues on a rhinestone moustache before hitting the streets for a wild night out (she’s a whizz at über-creative make-up). Moments later, I had her hair greased back and her ass parked in front of a mirror, diamantes and spirit gum in hand, making handlebar magic.

Of course, these days a woman wearing trousers is no big deal (well, not in modern countries, at least), but I think there’s still a lot of power and sex appeal in a beautiful woman opting for boy drag. It’s one thing for her to show off her figure in a tight dress, but if she’s wearing a moustache and a suit and still turning heads… Now that’s something special.
