“I was a proud punk rock kid when I got my first tattoo at age 15. It read ‘PUNX forever’ in small lettering.
After that, tattoos became an addiction, but now I’m a body piercer in a tattoo shop and I tell my customers to wait until they’re 18 before getting inked. You can’t know what you’re going to like in the future and most young people in my area just want to imitate what other people have, which is usually stars or tribals. I hate tribals!

The crow on my leg is in memory of my sister and a dear friend. In the movie The Crow, it’s this bird that carries the soul from earth to heaven, so this is my way of wishing them good luck.
I don’t mind if tattoos don’t mean anything, though. For example, if I was getting a tattoo from Derek Noble of Lucky Devil Tattoo in Seattle, or Volker of Buena Vista Tattoo Club in Germany, the most important thing would be the style.
Those guys are two of my favourite artists – especially Derek, I love his morbid, dark, old school work.
My favourite design is the leopard-print pattern on my left forearm, because I love leopard print and wear it all the time! I also have a portrait of Leonidas from 300 – it’s my favourite movie.”
