“I like to retain femininity in my tattoos. Even though some of them are inspired by the horror genre – such as the severed zombie foot in an eight-inch fetish heel on the back of my calf – they’re still girly and pretty.
My favourite is my right sleeve – it features a blood-stained pin-up wielding a razor, with her legs severed by the script ‘Hell Hath No Fury’.

It also includes portraits of some of my favourite horror icons: Christopher Lee as Dracula, Boris Karloff as Frankenstein’s monster and a zombie from Night Of The Living Dead.
Significance and sentiment are important to me in tattoos.
My first ink – two small stars on my lower back – was more an act of rock’n’roll rebellion than being about acquiring an amazing piece of artwork, but all my designs are well thought out.
I take my concepts to my tattooists, and I know they’ll blow me away when they draw the piece up.
My two main local artists are Aureole of 198 Tattoo and Rachi Brains at Black Throne Tattoo. But if I had the chance to go international, I’d love to get tattooed by Hannah Aitchison (Chicago-based tattoo artist and star of LA Ink) and Angelique Houtkamp (world-renowned Dutch artist and tattooist).
A close mate and I have matching friendship tattoos that say, ‘Special Ones’, which is about only letting special people into your life. It brings back good memories whenever I look at it.
It’s always good to have a buddy to share the pain of getting inked and this was her first tattoo, so I was quite happy to share the experience with her. She’s needle-phobic so she nearly squeezed my hand off!
There was one occasion when I was getting my hands tattooed and was without the luxury of moral support – or a driver.
Four hours later, I was attempting to steer and shift gears in my car with hands the size of lunchboxes. Forget ‘don’t drink and drive’ – don’t get your hands tattooed and drive!”
