“ I didn’t get my first tattoo until I was 21 – if I’d had one done when I was young it probably would’ve have been something stupid. Instead, it’s four Viking dragons forming a heart on my back.
"Back then I didn’t know a lot about Nordic art, but I knew that Joergen Christensen (of Mjoelner Tattoo in Aarhus, Denmark) was one of the best tattooists in the world for this kind of style. Plus, it’s a link to my heritage.
“I haven’t got a favourite tattoo – it depends what day of the week you ask me! But I love the orchids on my hands.
"For me, tattoos are like collecting art. A piece of art doesn’t have to be important to you because your granddad gave it to you just before he went out on his last fishing trip and drowned.
I think meanings are far less important than the piece itself. The more tattoos I get, the less important it is to have a story to go with it.
"Next up I’m planning to have my back done. I’m actually craving it! I know exactly what it’s going to be and who I want to do it, but I’m not telling you! I also have space on my ribs and right thigh.
“If I hadn’t got tattooed, I might not have ended up becoming a model. Sure, the tattoos mean that there are some jobs I can’t do, but I’m able to do all the fun, crazy stuff that other models would never get to experience.”
