The designs are by Darek Hess, and the angel was also used for the cover art of the Agoraphobic Nosebleed / Converge split release entitled The Poacher Diaries (GREAT record!)

To me they represent sacrifice and vices. Either way I thought they were
amazing sketch designs and had to have them.

Both were done by an amazingly talented artist named Brett Corvin at Ace Tattoo in Glendale, Arizona.
