Don’t believe me if you like, but truly, I’ve never had to go through the ‘casting couch’ with anyone to get magazine covers (and never heard of such stories about other models I know). On a personal level, well, yes, models do have sex like any other human beings. If they’re single, or in an open relationship, why wouldn’t they shop around a bit? Now, let’s cut the crap. About your boyfriend’s comment on fetish models being linked to the porn industry, excuse me, but this is ignorant. I bet your man doesn’t even know any fetish models or photographers. Yes, porn-fetish movies do exist (The Fashionistas being my fave!) and the actresses in those films are professionals and consciously choose porn as a career. But sweetie, if you are a model, nobody will have your throat slit if you don’t do sex! There’s room in fetish for various styles. The assumption that all fetish/glam models are involved in porn is an idea that often comes from insecure, ignorant, or jealous people.

In your case, perhaps your boyfriend is just afraid you might cheat on him. But if you let dirty gossip and jealousy stop you having a modelling career, perhaps you’re not committed enough anyway. Being a model is not as easy as it looks. You need to take care of your health and body, invest money in your career, improve your temper and not give a damn about what the rest of the world, including your competitors, think of you. If you decide to give it a try, then choose what type of model/actress you want to be (PVC? Leather? Latex? Something else?), set your limits (will you do nudity? Sex?) and remember to respect them. Who knows, you might be on the Bizarre cover one day.
