The top five freaky flash gamesPermalink| Discussion:No CommentsPosted in Uncategorized on October 13, 2008 at 4:06 pm I have played tons of tons of online flash games, most of them are utterly awful but the few that are here are the best and most inventive games out there.Plus you get to shed a lot of blood, what can be better after a hard day’s grind? Enjoy 5. 13 Days In Hell. It’s a first person old school shooter where you must blow away all the zombies with a variety of ever increasing firepower. Graphics are pretty good considering and there’s lots of blood spray as you shoot those fuckers in the head. Bizarre Ball-The best party I have ever been to!Permalink| Discussion:No CommentsPosted in Uncategorized on at 12:53 pm It was easily the best night I’ve been to. I can’t think of anything that works as well as that. I’ll be honest I’m not much of a night owl but what was so cool about Friday is how great the people were, how good the acts were and most of all how nice it was to meet the readers of the magazine I help put together every month. This sums it up really. My 400D and me!Permalink| Discussion:No CommentsPosted in Uncategorized on July 17, 2008 at 4:55 pm Recently I got my grubby little mitts on the simply superb Canon 400D along with a sexy little number, the speedlite 430EX flashgun. I’ve been using it to shoot mainly stuff for the magazine and I’m not talking about the odd collection of skulls that one of my colleagues may have left out for people to admire. (Thank you Dr Blackthorn) Here’s one anyway: HancockPermalink| Discussion:No CommentsPosted in Uncategorized on June 9, 2008 at 3:09 pm As anyone who knows me will testify my music and film taste can best be described as MOR. I’m into bands like Del Amitri and Bruce Hornsby and The Range. Film wise, I’ve seen the latest Indiana Jones twice, it’s brilliant and when I saw the press screening of Transformers I rolled out of the cinema exclaiming how totally awesome the film was, me and about 150 other geeks. The people I was with were moaning how their ears were hurting from the unbelievably loud sound effects. Utterly pathetic losers http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnwmUZuF5OY I saw the trailer for Hancock, looks like my kind of film. Totally ridiculous overblown action movie with Will Smith. Ticks all my boxes…. http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/hancock/trailer/ DispatchesPermalink| Discussion:No CommentsPosted in Uncategorized on May 29, 2008 at 11:16 am I met the editor of this magazine last year at the biggest photo-journalism festival in the world, the Visa Pour L’Image in Perpignan, France. http://www.rethink-dispatches.com At the time it was still a work in progress and now they’re ready to launch, it’s probably the most unique photo magazine in the world. Why’s that you ask? Well they do one photo story per issue, over an unbelievable 80 pages and get this the launch issue story is totally black and white. It’s like going back to the days of Reportage, the A3 size bad boy. Published on a wing and prayer by Colin Jacobson back in the 90’s. You can still buy copies here, http://www.amazon.com/Reportage-International-Photojournalism-Colin-Jacobson/dp/B000YYVVWS Anyway getting back to Dispatches, we ran one of the photographer’s images back in the early days of Bizarre, 1999 although the image was taken at a travelling circus in 1975. The shooter is Antonin Kratochvil. I’m sure some of you remember this image. ( I’ve had to drop in the page from our catch-up of the best of Bizarre, February 2006) Dispatches will have a single theme every month and this launch issue is ‘In America” and it looks like they’ve sent Antonin on an assignment to capture some of the soul of America. Personally I would have sent someone like Robert Huber who captures the weird and wonderful and best of all it would have been in bright vivid colour. Find Robert at: http://roberthuber.lookatonline.com Getting sidetracked slightly but have a look at the magazine here and order a subscription, support these guys. http://www.rethink-dispatches.com Brilliant BloggingPermalink| Discussion:No CommentsPosted in Uncategorized on May 28, 2008 at 1:34 pm Photography, picture editing and other cool stuff The one blog I check everyday: A top portrait photographer and super savvy with the blog: http://www.whatsthejackanory.com Top Tips Told To Test-Tryers. This year the organisers have launched a really cool website with mini interviews from photographers explaining how they captured their winning images, check out how Platon got the winning image of Puton, the russian president. It’s fascinating. http://www.worldpressphoto.org/images/stories/videos/Interviews/index.php? Next
