Since splitting, Monty Python have had a hideous BBC2 reunion, and students have irritated everyone by incessantly repeating their routines. But at the time Python were innovative and hilarious, and the great thing about their TV work was the structure, with great running threads which haven't been apparent on DVD compilations. This first series, here in its entirety, is essential, still absolutely unique and surreal.
