What brought you to Jersey?
EL TIGRE: When we were growing up, we used to read about Jersey's glittering cabaret scene in magazines and dream about meeting our idols.
CERVANTES: But when we arrived we were heartbroken because cabaret had died - all the clubs were boarded up or had been turned into discos. So we decided to resurrect the Jersey cabaret scene. Now it's hot again, and you can thank us for that.
Do you ever take your masks off?
SENOR DESTRUCTO: If we're performing or recording, we always wear the masks.
CERVANTES: If you're defeated in the wrestling ring in Mexico, your mask is removed and you can never fight again. No-one must ever see our faces; it would bring shame upon us.
But don't they put off the ladies?
SENOR DESTRUCTO: No, we always get groupies. Women love us. But we insist they also wear masks when we make love. If they have nice bodies, we don't care so much about their faces.
EL TIGRE: Don't get us wrong - we're not chauvinists. We'll let them wear bikinis sometimes, or perhaps cowboy boots if they're feeling shy.
Any plans to take your show outside Jersey?
CERVANTES: We already played a show in London. Have you ever heard of... oh, what's that place called? The Royal Albert Hall. Yes, we played the pub next door.
EL TIGRE: That was one of the biggest gigs we've ever played. Our first gig was probably the biggest. They've been getting smaller and smaller ever since...
