While her father David Lynch is the master of strange cinema, there's nothing remotely weird about Jennifer Lynch's latest movie, a dark and gruelling serial killer character study that digs deep into the mind of a deranged murderer.
Despite the disturbing premise (serial killer keeps a boy incarcerated for years after slaughtering his mother), it's intelligent and thought-provoking rather than gratuitous. We recently described it as the best serial killer film of its type since Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer. And we'll stick by that.
