This sci-fi tinged comedy from Japanese director Yoshihiro Nakamura spans 37 years and goes through several storylines, revealing how a Japanese punk rock song indirectly prevents the end of the world. Although the tangential narrative is crammed full of complexity and pop culture references, it’s not confusing, and the director uses a montage of ‘unseen’ moments to complete the riveting visual puzzle.
