Car accidents are often caused by drivers failing to keep their eyes on the road whether talking on the phone, changing radio stations or checking appearance in the mirror. But Megan Mariah Barnes, 37, from Florida, set a new benchmark from motoring idiocy when she caused a fender-bender by attempting to shave her crotch while driving.

In Moscow, a sumo-wrestler turned robber dispensed with subtlety when he stole an ATM machine by ripping it straight out of a wall and carrying it off.

Mexican judge Fernando Perez Hurtado has been banned from public office after dishing out unusual punishment to a 13-year-old graffiti artist. Instead of fining the boy's parents, Hurtado ordered him to drop trousers and then spray painted his buttocks. He tanned his hide, in a manner of speaking. 

A mental clinic is supposed to a soothing place, free from surprises and reassuringly normal. But Akasaka, a mental clinic in Japan, has turned normalcy on it's head (literally) by incorporating a design which is totally bonkers including doors that don't open.
