Bizarre regularly features all the weird and wonderful rubbish you can buy online. But this has to be one of the best. If perusing Craigslist recently, you may have come across an intriguing ad - one selling a four-year old boy. Now Washington police are investigating the apparently genuine ad, which offered the child for the low-low price of ,000. A quote, seemingly from the boy’s father, read: “Gavin’s a great kid but I can no longer afford to take care of him…he doesn’t fuss very much but when he does he just screams for hours. I usually just put him in the closet until he stops and that usually works.” The kid’s probably better off on the market.
Meanwhile two Taiwanese robbers used local newspaper ad’s to recruit accomplices for a series of crimes. The ad’s, seemingly seeking “salesmen” and “business commissioners,” were actually a front for bringing in extra men to help pull off the heists. But now they too are being prosecuted. That's what happens when criminals appeal for help in a newspaper.
In Anhui province, China, a naked man halted traffic when he emerged into a street and attempted to lift a taxi. Occasionally shouting ‘please give me strength!’ he struggled with the vehicle and then hid from police when they arrived. And, yes, we know this isn’t particularly news worthy but it’s a slow day and the picture is funny.
Closer to home, Virgin Media have landed in scalding hot water after a letter from the company went out addressed to a “Mr. Illegal Immigrant.” Aaron Needham, from Nottingham, received the letter which information about the company’s services. He was suitably furious, Virgin suitably embarrassed and everyone else is suitably entertained.
Finally is this the greatest news typo ever? The Telegraph has now corrected it (killjoys) but thank goodness for screen grabs eh...
