High Tease

Take a busty look into the Ministry of Burlesque's High Tease night in Glasgow

The sprawling Classic Grand in Glasgow was a decadently appropriate venue for the Ministry of Burlesque’s High Tease night in February, the faded grandeur of the 1920s cinema providing a bohemian backdrop for acts that included a host of Bizarre favourites such as Kittie Klaw, RedSarah and Missy Malone.

The evening was extra special as it was also a triumphant homecoming for
the Ministry of Burlesque. The Ministry started life in Glasgow in 2003, but soon journeyed south to find fame and fortune. And after establishing a series of successful club nights in London and Brighton, tonight marked their return to Scotland to charm, tease and seduce the ‘weegies’ who’d been hungry for their debauched shows and charming kinkiness.

As the depraved evening unfolded, Kittie Klaw donned her best tartan outfit
to perform her burlesque version of Will Fyffe’s ‘I Belong To Glasgow’, and
the dressed-up, tasselled, sequined and feathered crowd thrilled to other acts, including singer Jim Devereaux’s ‘Victorian Queer’ romp, and Glasgow’s own dance troupe Vixens In Silk.

An army of amateurs also got their shot at flapper fame in the Battle Of Burlesque, where boa-twirling and fan-dancing virgins Wild Card Kitty and Eva Braun shook their stuff in front of the roaring crowd. Tartantalising.
