THE BATTY BANDITS AT LUCHA BRITANNIA know how to put on a night with a difference. There aren’t many events that combine the heart-stopping excitement of Mexican wrestling, the eye watering antics of the underground cabaret scene and the wonder of twisted circus performance. It makes for a heady mix.

Creatures of the uncivilised world gravitated towards this dark, underground venue in the capital to take their places ringside and watch the magic unfurl. Vivacious Valeria kicked off the ceremony by straddling a motorcycle, ploughing through a giant heart and slithering her way into the spotlight to perform a sexy striptease.

Once we were suitably hot under the collar, two wrestlers took to the mat. The heady bouquet of Deep Heat wafted out as every thud of flesh hit the mat and a sea of fists punched the air. There were somersaults off the ropes, headlocks and body drops galore. It was like Fight Club with Lycra. If that wasn’t enough, Syban V Manticore tottered in to the ring to perform an eerie show, carving up children’s toys oozing with blood. If you want a normal night on the tiles, this really ain’t for you.
