Coney Island resident Topsy killed three men in 1903, and, as pubshiment, she was fed potassium cyanide-laced carrots and then electrocuted. Over 1,000 people watched the gruesome spectacle which was filmed by inventor Thomas Edison. This the resulting film, Electrocuting an Elephant.
