And find out what happened when Bizarre joined the London Roller Girls here
Glasgow Roller Girls
When did the team first form? April 2007
Team fact: We are self-taught. We didn't have someone to come from over the sea to teach us roller derby. We buckled down and learned and studied and asked questions and united with other teams to play this game. The fact that we don't have an experienced roller derby player in our team and we are still so tight is fantastic!
Team motto: “Glasgow Kisses”
Team song: Here we go, here we go, here we go...!
Best team moment: When we played the Birmingham Blitz Derby Dames. It was our first bout playing as a full team. Such a proud moment.
Worst team moment: None! You live and you learn from all experiences, good and bad!

Birmingham Blitz Derby Dames
When did the team first form? Our league formed in October 2006 - we're the second oldest league in the UK.
Team fact: Our founder Bee Sting was one of the original London Rollergirls before leaving to start up the Blitz Dames - the first league outside of Birmingham, which helped to inspire other leagues.
Team motto: "Be Safe But Don't Be Careful"
Team song: "Ballroom Blitz"
Best team moment: Being the underdog in our last bout CRASH of the TITANS in April this year against the Glasgow Rollergirls. We had 10 skaters against their 14 and five of our skaters were first timers. We still won 91-74!
Worst team moment: The end of every practice, the end of every bout, every time we have to take our skates off.

Middlesbrough Milk Rollers
When did the team first form? We got together in September 2007 after reading a piece in the Guardian about the London Roller Girls.
Team fact: We’re the first league in the North East and amongst our ranks we have landscape gardeners, milliners, social workers ranging from 18-40. Boro girls are also known for their drinking and dancing.
Team motto: “Harder, better, faster, more!”
Team song: Joan Jett ‘Bad Reputation’ suits us lot
Best team moment: The last few months have been pretty good. We raised a shitload of money for Sport Relief by doing what we love.
Worst team moment: At one of our first few practices, there were just three of us skating round a massive hall, not really sure where to start. That kind of sucked.

Bedford Bandits
When did the team first form? We formed in November 2007 so are still a league very much in infancy. We aim to hold our first bout around Halloween time this year.
Team fact: A lot of our skaters are mums looking for a couple of hours aggression busting away from home. Don’t underestimate the power of these women!
Team Motto: “Play with the Bandits, you’re playing with fire”
Team Song: Disco Inferno.
Best team moment: In April this year, at a mixed practice with Central City Rollergirls, London Rockin Rollers and Windsor Rollergirls, one of our girls Caz took a particularly hard hit from Von Bitch of the Rockin Rollers and the whole team got behind her to rally her on. The team spirit was awesome and that’s what Derby is about.
Worst team moment: None so far!

Central City Rollergirls
Team formed: Over chilli, cheers and beers in November 2007
Team fact: With British, French, Polish, American, Canadian and German members on the team we’ve got a real international flavour!
Team Motto: “Less hate, more skate”
Team song: “Rebel Yell” by Billy Idol! Gotta love a bit of Billy…
Best team moment Receiving funding to be able to provide free derby skating sessions for women in the local area and spreading the derby love!
Worst team moment: Apart from Verry Cherry getting a bruise that’s almost the size of her entire thigh during a particularly rough practice, we’re lucky to have not had a single bad experience so far.

Romsey Town Rollerbillies
Team formed: February 2008
Team fact: Our team transport is a van held together with gaffer tape. She's called Jolene and we can all piss standing up!
Team motto: “Skate for health and for victory!”
Team song: Walk Like a Zombie by the Horrorpops
Worst team moment: Our entire team was killed in a car wreck in 1956 on our way home from a late shift waitressing at the car hop.
Best team moment We were reanimated by a mad scientist and turned into zombie rollergirls. Then we ate the mad scientist's brain.
