Jordi Giro expected his new flat in the Costa Brava to be empty after buying it at auction. According to the auctioneers, the previous owner had defaulted on her payements and the home had subsequently been repossessed.

When he moved in however, he discovered exactly why the woman had been unable to continue her mortgage repayments; she'd died in 2001, and apparently no one had entered the house to remove her. As a result, she'd spent six years mummifying, as neither her estranged husband or children discovered her.
