The skull was "sitting perfectly" at the end of Jodi Dawson's driveway in Hamilton. She believed it was an animal skull and kicked it across the road into a ditch.

The battered skull was then found in the ditch, and subsequently, local police are searching for more evidence in a nearby field.

Officers have told residents that they believe it might be a skull dug up from a nearby cemetry by an animal such as a dog or a large cat.
