Oscar the cat possesses what has been described as an "eerie-knack", as he has a sixth-sense ability to tell when a patient at the Steere House Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Providence, Rhode Island, is within hours of imminent death.
When a patient is approacing their final hours, Oscar will sit with them until their time is up, and if the patient does not want Oscar's company, he will pace outside their door.
Experts have no explanation as to why Oscar has this repeatedly accurate ability, but they suggest it might be due to a change in the patient's metabolism, which only felines and canines could possibly detect.
